Dt. 8/31/2026,  New Delhi

Respected
Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji, Sringeri, Chikmagalur district, Karnataka – 577 139.

And for information to:
The Administrator, Sri Sringeri Math, Sringeri, Karnataka – 577 139.
(Email: adminoffice@sringeri.net, seva@sringeri.net)
Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati, Sringeri.

Subject: An urgent request for clarification within 48 hours regarding a wedding invitation card currently causing  various conflicts among the general public in society—wherein “Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati” is referred to as “Jagadguru” and the marriage between a Hindu youth and a Muslim girl (scheduled for 04-09-2026 at Keesaragutta, Telangana) is stated to take place with his blessings—along with a request for canonical (Shastra-based) evidence and clarifications on Math traditions and other related matters. If no satisfactory and evidence-based response is received from you within 48 hours, it will be assumed that this non-Vedic Hindu-Muslim marriage and other non-Vedic activities are taking place unrighteously with your explicit consent.

To the Respected Sri Bharati Tirtha Swamiji,

We are writing this letter urgently to the management of Sri Sringeri Math and to the attention of Sri Bharati Tirtha Swamiji regarding a “Wedding Invitation Card” of “a Hindu youth and a Muslim girl” featuring the blessings of Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati. This invitation acts contrary to Sanatana Dharma, creates confusion among common Hindu devotees, and leads to disputes and discussions between “Hindus and Muslims” in present-day society. We seek immediate action, satisfactory and clear answers, and a written explanation regarding the 2500-year-old tradition of Adi Shankaracharya’s Amnaya Peethas, lineage (Parampara), Sannyasa tradition, and related matters.

Urgent clarification regarding the Wedding Invitation Card:  An invitation card is being widely circulated everywhere regarding an upcoming wedding between Chi. Harish and Chi. La. Sou. Ruksana (daughter of Mohammed Nooruddin and Rahmat Bee) scheduled for 04-09-2026 at Sri Ramalingeswara Swamy Temple in Keesaragutta. Several people have also lodged complaints with our organization. On that card, it is clearly printed as “…with the blessings of Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati as Jagadguru.”

In this regard, we urgently request clarification on the following points:  Have you given any permission for this non-Vedic activity taking place in the name of a “marriage” which is completely non-Vedic, unauthentic, and contrary to Dharma? Do you even know that such a marriage is taking place in “Telangana”?

On this wedding invitation card, Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Swamiji’s name is printed as “Jagadguru,” followed by the statement that this marriage has his blessings. Regarding this matter, did they obtain any permission or blessings from the administrators of Sringeri Math, from Sri Bharati Tirtha Swamiji, or from Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati? Have you granted any such permission? Did that “Hindu-Muslim” bride and groom receive any such blessings? Is Chi. Harish a devotee of your Math? Has he ever met Vidhushekhara Bharati in person?

Has any request for blessings or any document been brought to the notice of Sringeri Math, Sri Bharati Tirtha Swamiji, Vidhushekhara Bharati, their PA, PS, or Math officials via email, post, or any other form (phone calls/WhatsApp messages)? Or has any request for your blessings been submitted online through digital services?

Or have any self-proclaimed representatives of your Math in Telangana, or anyone from affiliate/branch Maths in Telangana, brought such invitation cards to you directly or indirectly? Were they presented to you, and did they come to your notice? If so, when, and what action did you take on it?

If done inadvertently without proper scrutiny, have the PA, PS, Math CEO, or computer operators sent Kumkum, Prasadam, or blessing letters in any form through online services?

Who are the authorized representatives of your Math in the state of Telangana? What are their complete details and duties?

If you have not given any permission for this, we humbly request you to issue an official statement/clarification on behalf of your Math within 48 hours, condemning such non-Vedic activities to clear the doubts among devotees regarding the unauthorized use of Sri Swamiji’s name as “Jagadguru” in the name of Vidhushekhara Bharati.

If this matter came to your notice, when did it come to your attention? What response did you give to it? Did you condemn it, bless it, or remain silent? You must also state what measures you are taking to ensure that no one ever performs such acts anywhere again.

Translation: Acharyas must continuously monitor the people within the territories under their authority. They must ensure that people do not act contrary to Dharma. By continuously touring the regions entrusted to them, they must guide the people to act strictly as prescribed in their respective Dharma Shastras, without deviating from their own Sva-Dharma.

Translation: The rules of Dharma established by great sages like Manu Maharshi have been affirmed and re-established by us in our Bhashyas and Prakarana texts. The Varna-Ashrama Dharma established by us—comprising four Varnas and four Ashramas—must always be strictly protected by the Acharyas in their respective regions as prescribed.

Translation: Vedic Arya Dharma is the synthesis of Human Dharma, Varna-Ashrama Dharma, and Moksha Dharma. It is beneficial to everyone at all times. However, due to short-sighted individuals, it is undergoing decline. Therefore, abandoning such slackness, one must firmly embrace diligence and follow the righteous, virtuous path.

Translation: After Brahmalena of Seated Acharya then only Only “one” qualified Vipra Sannyasi should be consecrated and appointed as the new Acharya of that Peetham. Consecrating or appointing more than one Sannyasi for the same Peetham is completely improper and prohibited. It is impossible to have two Peethadhipatis or two Shankaracharyas simultaneously for a single Peetham. Appointing, consecrating, or having parallel multiple Sannyasis for a single Peetham is strictly forbidden. Acting in such a manner is contrary to Dharma, contrary to the commands of Sri Adi Shankaracharya, and contrary to Math rules.

Translation: This is the order of Dharma. This is the very cause of the existence of the universe; in other words, the existence of the universe depends on this system of Dharma. Keeping this in view, after deeply studying and examining the Shruti, Smriti, Puranas, Itihasas, and Niti Shastras, this text was composed to protect Sanatana Varna-Ashrama Dharma. Therefore, the system of Dharma prescribed herein must be strictly observed by both the Acharya and the King.

Misuse of Math Traditions and Titles: According to our Sanatana Dharma traditions and the 2500-year-old Mathamnaya Mahanusasanam of Adi Shankaracharya, there can and should be only ONE head for a Math. These rules must not be violated. Presently, Poojyasri Bharati Tirtha Swamiji is the head. While he is the head, using titles like “Jagadguru” or “Shankaracharya” for another person or parallelly is contrary to tradition. Acting contrary to the Mathamnaya Mahanusasanam, Sringeri Math traditions, Dharma, and Adi Shankaracharya’s instructions constitutes a violation of the Acharya’s commands. We request your response and written clarification to these questions.

Clarification on Previously Sent Requests: No reply was received for the multiple notices sent to you in the past (https://mathamnayamanishiparishad.org/en_US/public-notice-regarding-sringeri-math/ ). Therefore, on what basis should you be recognized as Dharmacharyas?

Clarity on Adi Shankaracharya’s Timeline: It has been 2500 years since Adi Shankaracharya established the Chaturamnaya Maths. Why is Sringeri Math falsely claiming it to be only 1200 years old?

Why are you acting against the 2500-year-old original Vedic Sanatana lineage by accepting the claims of foreigners, the British, Macaulay, and Nehru as authoritative? Why are you commissioning false books through numerous scholars, giving false discourses, and spreading lies to force the timeline down to 1200 years?

Sannyasa Rules: In Vedic tradition, eligibility to accept ‘Paramahamsa Parivrajaka Danda Sannyasa’ is exclusively prescribed for Brahmins. By granting this to a Vaishya individual named “Upesh Babu” (giving him the name Vamanashrama), why are you corrupting the Vaishya community on one hand and the Dashanami Sannyasa tradition on the other?

Lies regarding Sri Chandramouleshwara Linga: Adi Shankaracharya presented one Sri Chandramouleshwara Linga to each Amnaya Math. How then did two Chandramouleshwara Lingas appear at Sringeri? Which is the authentic Chandramouleshwara Linga, and where is it located?

We request you to issue an official explanatory statement on behalf of Sringeri Math within 48 hours addressing these issues.
